Spring is here and with it comes my uncontrollable desire to be outside. The fresh spring breeze with the birds chirping overhead is spectacular. One of the leisure dates Zach and I like to partake in are picnics! We kicked off this year’s first picnic at no other location but West Potomac Park in DC! Check out my list of spring locations to turn your instagram feed pink!
I packed our entire picnic into a cute summery bag and off we went with our boys in tow. I’ll break down exactly what I brought on our picnic further down this post.
This spot was perfect for us. Zach isn’t a huge fan of large groups of people and I wanted to enjoy the cherry blossoms so it was the best of both worlds! We were able to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms without being in the hustle and bustle with the other millions of people. Even our boys had a wonderful time people (and dog) watching.
What We Packed in our Picnic
- You can always pack a heavier picnic but we wanted to start light with a nice snack since we weren’t sure what the conditions would be like by the cherry blossoms.
- Elephant Table Cloth – used as a picnic blanket
- Summer Bag – held all food and extras and was super light weight
- Wood Plate
- Marble Cheese Plate
