I’m making this post into a series because I expect I’ll be adding more to the series as I go through my program!
We all have them, what we expect from ourselves when we start a grad program. Be it, “I’m a straight A student. Period.”, “I can work full-time & stay on top of everything – I did in undergrad”, “I don’t need to make time for self-care I’m fine/this is only a ___year/month program”. Trust me – if you’ve ever thought this in a grad program you’re not alone. In this series I’ll be addressing different expectations we have.
Today we’re addressing GRADES! 🅰️🎓To my straight A students. News flash – B’s get degrees… & honestly, no one looks at that stuff anyway! Try your best but don’t add stress over what your final grade is in the class! It’s likely your program is stressful enough as it is. If you manage to get straight A’s congrats! I’m proud of you 🥳 & if you get B’s CONGRATS I’m proud of you 🥳🤩 You passed your class & put in the work, so seriously – go you! In my program you need a B- to pass the class – but too many B-‘s & you’ll be put on academic probation/dismissed from the program. It’s totally valid to stress about grades, but just because you didn’t get an A in a class doesn’t mean you’re any lesser than! I’m not saying getting straight A’s is impossible ~ it’s totally possible, trust me 😉~ but this shouldn’t be your expectation! 💋
Anyway, you’ve got this & you’re going to crush this semester!
